A Complete Guide to Muslim Sharia

Islamic ShariaMuslim Sharia or Islamic law is a set of rules and regulations defined in the Holy Quran and guided by the Hadith of Prophet Muhammad (peace be upon him). These set of rules are followed by all the Muslims so that they can benefit from them. These guidelines have been defined 1400 years ago and the miracle of the Quran is that they are still applicable today and the years to come till the Day of Judgement. It is obligatory on all the Muslims to first understand these rules well and then apply in their daily lives.

The main source of Islamic law is defined in the glorious Quran. The Quran reveals the true spirit of these laws. The five main pillars of Islam are those which set the basic guidelines for all other laws to be implemented. The first and foremost pillar of Islam is Tauheed or Oneness of Allah. It is the most essential pillar of Islam on which the whole religion is based upon. Oneness of Allah means that a Muslim believes that there is one God and there is no God except Allah. Allah has strictly forbidden associating partners with Him. He is the only Creator of this universe and everything is meant to worship Him alone. When a Muslim firmly believes in this statement then he can move forward with other aspects of Islam.

Next comes Salah or Prayer for Allah. This is an act of worship to show humility and submission towards Allah. Salah is performed five times a day at different hours stated by Allah. The Salah is a complete act of worship for the believers. After Salah, the next most important aspect of Islamic law is the Saum or Fasting. It is performed in the Holy month of Ramadan and is a source of getting pure outwardly and from inside as well. The fasting helps the Muslims to get re energized spiritually and physically. Zakat is the next obligatory act after fasting. Some portion of the wealth is given to the poor to regulate the economy of the state. In this way the poor people also get their share and are able to afford the basic necessities of life. Pilgrimage or Hajj is the last pillar of Islam which is performed once in a lifetime considering personal health and financial aspects before. It is compulsory on those Muslims who are physically fit and have enough wealth to perform this act which would purify them from all sides.
